Every year, offices, churches, friends, and even families like to do a “fun” secret Santa gift exchange. For some, these can be fun. For others, though, the stress of a secret Santa gift is not something they want on top of normal holiday stress. If you have found yourself in the midst of a secret Santa gift exchange and have no clue what to give as a gift, here are a few gifts that anyone would love to receive- and they won’t cost you mush at all!
Scarf
Men and women both like scarves. A nice scarf can be purchased for $10 at many major stores, but you can also make one. Whether you knit, sew, or just know how to use the Internet, you can find many tutorials on how to do a handmade scarf.
Slippers and coffee
Get a nice coffee mug (some can be as cheap as $1), a travel size bag of coffee, some powdered creamer, a few mints, and a nice pair of slippers. Package them all together and give the gift of comfort and cheer for less than $20. If you want to really make an impression, look up coffee or hot chocolate recipes and make a bag with the ingredients needed to make a gourmet cup of yummy goodness to be enjoyed on those cold winter nights.
Ornaments
Some nice Christmas ornaments, whether bought or made, can be a great addition to anyone’s tree. Find one that fits the personality of your gift recipient or make something special with their name or initials on it. It’s a seasonal gift that they can use for years to come, and you can get away with a nice ornament for $10 or less!
A journal set
Does your giftee like to write? A nice journal and pen, with a lovely inscription on the inside, can be a fabulous gift for under $20. Package it with some tea and a tea cup and you have a gift that has lots of personality and charm.
Stocking full of fun
Get a $1 stocking from the Dollar Tree and fill it with candy, hot chocolate, a deck of cards, dominoes, crossword puzzles, Sodoku book, a puzzle, coloring books and crayons- whatever will fit your gift recipient’s tastes. Making a stocking of fun is one way to spread cheer this holiday season and something they can use throughout the coming year to entertain themselves when they’re bored at work, school, or home.
