With the Holidays it’s no secret that kids eat more candy and sweets. As parents we often let them have more treats than we should during the holidays. Let’s be honest as parents we eat more of it also! It’s just something about the holidays! But let’s face it eating sweets may seem like harmless fun but pediatric oral disease is in fact the #1 chronic childhood illness. I have always been very active about my children’s dental care. They might even say that I’m overbearing. We all hear about the importance of regular brushing and flossing for your oral care routine, but brushing alone misses the germs in 75% of your mouth! Adding a therapeutic mouthwash to your daily routine of brushing and flossing is an essential step in keeping your mouth healthy and protected.
The makers of LISTERINE® and REACH® have created an “Oral Care Challenge” for parents and kids (ages 6 and older) to take on this year. I took this challenge last year and not only was it fun it kept everyone from being in trouble with our dentist! I decided to make sure my family did this challenge again this year since it was perfect timing and our checkups is scheduled the 3rd week in January! To complete the challenge, kids, alongside their parents, have to brush, floss and rinse every day, twice a day for two weeks-a key step in building a strong oral care foundation. My Kids always brush twice daily but have really been lacking on flossing! I hope that this gets them back in the habit.
So make sure you check back to hear how our challenge goes and see if my teens actually remember to do the extra steps besides brushing! Since I already know Jada will do it with no questions ask haha.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Listerine and received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate
