With the older two kids in middle school now the school projects begin! The other day my son who is in the 7th grade, had to do a project and present it to the class. He worked extra hard on this project. I was so happy seeing how excited he was about doing it. I ask him if he was nervous about having to get up in front of the class. Of course not, he replied. I was thinking yea right you say that now. Then the day came. As soon as he got home I wanted to hear all about it. He said it went good and that he got a 95. However, he got points deducted because he was not facing his classmates as much as she wanted. He didn’t understand why It was so important to face the class while showing the project and talking.
Of course it’s no secret my weakness has always been public speaking. I know I’m not alone! Still today I dread it. However with the many roles that I do in the community and school events I still have to do it. I have even thought about taking classes to help me improve and get over my public speaking fears. If you didn’t know classes and coaches are available that can help you Improve Public Speaking . We are now looking for ways for him to get more comfortable talking in front of his classmates. Since we all know this is the first of many reports and projects that you will be doing in front of the class. While looking for some sites that cover public speaking I found getbetteratpublicspeaking.com. It seems like it’s a new and upcoming site that will help you find ways to overcome your fears and help even help you find a coach in your area. So make sure you check it out!
And while i have you here, I want to hear what your biggest fear is and how did you overcome it?
