I was recently invited to review the VTech LS6475-3 Multitasking Phone System. When talking to friends and family I mostly use my cell phone. However, I think I am one of the few that still have a traditional land line. The truth is the only reason that I have a land line is because I need it in my home office. If it wasn’t a requirement, I would have ditched it a long time ago. My old cordless phone had too much static so I ditched it and just had a plain corded phone. That left me having to be in my office way more then I wanted. Some days I get tons of calls and others I might be lucky to get one. However I still needed to be by the phone during my shift. Now I am not tied down and free to do other things without ever missing a call. I have the main phone base on my desk and the other one in my living room upstairs.
When I learned about the VTech’s multi-tasking phone system offers a hands-free solution to answering the phone I was very excited. The phone comes with a DECT 6.0 cordless headset with crisp sound and a long range. The headset gives me the option to answer calls without interrupting other things that I might be doing. I also loved that you can screen your calls as the system audibly announces the name and number on all handsets and base units.
I think the HD sound is also a big improvement over the other phones that I have used in the past. The keys are easy to use and the volume has a good range. The earpiece also works great and my clients can hear me way better then when I was using my high priced Plantronics. However to make an outgoing call you have to call with the handset first, then turn on the headset, then hang up handset. The battery life seems great! I was on a call for 3 hours and it was still halfway charged when I was finished. I also liked that they headsets are actually slimmer than the older Vtech cordless that I had. This phone system is just what I needed. I was shocked to see that this phone was just under $100.00. This would make a great Holiday gift for someone who still has a landland!
