Let’s face it most kids love drawing and doing art work. I know my daughter Jada does. If she is not playing dress up you can bet she is somewhere drawing. She has always enjoyed art but I notice that she has become more interested since she has been in school. She loves going to art class each week. She even told me one day that she wanted to be a artist just like her art teacher. I recently learned that uDraw Your City has launched a nationwide art contest for young artists’ ages 6 to 17 years old. While having the opportunity to share what they love most about their city through art. Contestants can use an uDraw GameTablet to illustrate what they love most about their city or traditional print formats.
THQ and uDraw invite kids to embrace their artistic inspiration and to share “what your city, your town, or your community means to you.” Maybe it’s the silhouette of your favorite building, a drawing of your friends at the park, or a stencil of your favorite local athlete. The grand prize winner will receive a package worth more than $15,000, including an uDraw, and a $10,000 cash prize that the winner can choose to apply toward a college scholarship. Additionally, THQ will donate $10,000 to the winner’s school of choice to help support its art program. Entries are judged on artistic merit (based on age group), creativity, and adherence to the overall city theme.
We don’t have a udraw but it’s been on the Christmas list since last year! I think Santa will make sure he brings Jada on this year. However, she still wants to enter. So I said go for it! The submission entry period lasts to October 31st. So hurry and get those entries in and Good luck!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of THQ and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
