Home renovations and remodeling while very popular can be very expensive. With the real estate market still struggling to make ends meet, people are just not investing in making their homes more attractive, not even to themselves. But if you look around your house right now, are you getting the feeling like it’s time for a change? Have you rocked the sterile, monochromatic mod look for a while now? While that whole stainless steel, black silver and white look may have been great to usher in the ’00s, it is not working now, and let’s be honest; it lacks the essential element of what we’ve come to rely on from our homes – warmth! Coming into the thousands meant for a lot of people that we would be shirking things that were rustic and embracing technology and streamlined inspired ways of modeling our homes and setting up our décor. The truth is the rest of the world felt that way too. You see it in the malls and shopping centers, even in bookstores and let’s not even talk about our offices.
Everything is sterile and sharp, with colors that are not necessarily muted, but don’t necessarily invoke a sense of welcoming. Since we as humans can often be band-wagonists, we’re left with homes that now too closely resemble our offices and shopping centers and for people who need to recoup, regroup and unwind at home, this monochromatic décor has proven very difficult to adjust to! This is where Cabin Fever comes in. traditionally a term used to describe a feeling of inescapable boredom and mandatory confinement, Cabin Fever in this regard is more of a welcoming or embracing of the styles that cabins have to offer. The warmth, the homeliness, the softness, the comfort. The cabin-centric interior design style is being sought after like nobody’s business right now because it is such a stark contrast to what we’ve come to accept and have in our home – cold, steely, sterile, dull.
This site is a celebration of everything cabin related and cabin-centric as far as interior design and decoration. From bed linens to even campy and fun antler themed home accessories, you can peruse for inspiration or for items that you can incorporate into your home for immediate effect. Trying to remodel your home given the current state of our nation’s economy just is not the most brilliant of ideas but it doesn’t mean that you can’t take stock of what you’d like to change and find more affordable alternatives. Even if you can’t change the tone of your entire home, why not just work on your bedroom or the room in the house that’s your favorite or in which you spend the most time. Taking the rooms bit by bit may be the most affordable way to tackle the overhaul, but it is more than worth it. One of the greatest selling points of the cabin inspired theme is that it is so flexible. You can add to it or subtract form it depending on the season. It doesn’t only have to equate a sense of warmth and the cabin motif can be embraced as cool and airy too. For the summer months, go with brighter colors in the same vein of design to give your rooms and your home a cool vacation at the lake feel.

For the stay at home mother, she has a lot of responsibilities on her plate.
Watching over a child or several kids is a full-time job in and of itself. Throw in a career and we are talking significant overtime.
As more and more moms are finding out these days, there are opportunities to be had by working from home with a blog and/or website.
First and foremost, creating your own blog and/or website is something that does take time and effort. Most importantly, do not start either one if you do not think you will be able to put 100 percent into them.
As some moms already know, there are many different opportunities in the mom blogging community at this time. That being said, do not expect blogging or building your own website to make you a millionaire overnight. In fact, you will likely not see tons of dollars, but you will see opportunities open up that were there waiting for you and many others mothers before you got online with your webstarts ideas.
So just what are some of these opportunities? Among them would be:
1. Discussing personal experiences – Many momsthatblog and/or put together a website talk about their own experiences as a mother, something many other women can relate to. Whether it was a difficult pregnancy, being a military wife, raising children with health issues or whatever the subject matter may be, one’s personal experiences are oftentimes the best subjects to address. As you will quickly learn, many other mothers out there have been or are currently going down this same path. Before you know it, you are touching other lives and opening up a network of communication with many other moms;
2. Offering online expertise – Some women who are now staying at home to raise their children can be a great asset to those women and even men looking to enhance their online skills. In the event you worked as an online editor, blogger, SEO consultant, I.T. expert, etc. you have skills that people need. Although you may not be working full-time in the outside world, you have skills that can be passed on to others. Through your blog and/or website, you can discuss matters such as how to start a blog, how to incorporate search marketing (SEO and SEM) into your business, how to run pay-per-click campaigns, how to sell products online and more;
3. Writing about current topics – You may or may not be impacted by things currently going on in the world, but it is a pretty safe bet that many other women (mothers and those not with children) are. If your blog is focused on challenging economic times for women, issues with raising children in today’s technological age, protecting children from violence in the schools and elsewhere, how to cope with daily stress, and how to deal with issues in one’s marriage, there is a good chance you will strike a nerve with many readers. Offering advice on some pertinent topics is sure to get you some readers and return traffic;
4. Have a focus – While it great to blog or have a website catering to various needs, take the time to focus in on a subject or two that you know you are both passionate and knowledgeable about, along with the fact that it will be popular. If your blog or site is all over the place, you may reach a number of people, but the focus can be off. Having a focus will allow you to bring in a concentrated audience, an audience that will likely follow you regularly and recommend you to other readers as an authority in your chosen subject. If you have a local focus, even better;
5. Expand your horizons – Not only is blogging a great way to stay in tune with current topics and potentially make money, but you can also use any skills you have in PPC, affiliate marketing, Google Adsense, in-text link advertisements, direct ads and more. Part of expanding your horizons is also networking. As you will quickly learn, scratching someone’s back will often lead to them doing the same for you. If you promote blogs and/or websites of other moms, there is a good chance they will return the favor for you. As a result, your blog gets more traffic and your potential for earning more revenue increases;
6. The web can work wonders – If writing is not your forte, you can still build a successful website that brings you both traffic and potentially money. If you are skilled in things such as search engine optimization (SEO), affiliate marketing, pay-per-click campaigns etc., you can be a great source of knowledge. In working from home, advertise your website skills to others that may need consulting help, I.T. assistance or even building sites. If sales is your specialty, you can use your website to sell just about everything there is. In working from home on the web, you can make your own hours, set your own pay scale and more. Just because you do not have a normal 9 to 5 office job does not mean you cannot make money and have a rewarding career at the same time as a stay at home mother.
The possibilities are endless if you want to stay at home as a mom and earn some money too.
Whether it is blogging or crafting your own website to meet the needs of others, let your mind run wild.

If your child has been bugging you this summer to take him or her to see the two latest installments of superhero flicks – Spiderman and Batman – you have no doubt either succumbed to their wishes or keep putting them off.
The bottom line is that bothfranchises have hauled in a boatload of money over the years, and these latest updates on the crime fighters is proving no different.
Either way, there is possibly a debate going on in your household as to which character is the better superhero. Is it the man who spins webs or the caped crusader? Is it the guy wearing the StylinClothesthat symbolize a spider on his chest or the one that highlights a bat?
While the only way to potentially settle such a debate would involve the two crime fighters taking on one another, you could also take a look at some of the differences between the two to help settle your argument.
Among the differences:
1. Spiderman can spin webs – While most women are not fans of spiders, imagine how cool it would be if your man could spin a web whenever he wanted to. It could serve as a highlight at family gatherings, office happy hours and while out in public at sporting events;
2. Batman has the batmobile – There is nothing much cooler if you are a guy than pulling up in the distinctive batmobile. With all the gadgetry that it has to offer, what mother would not sleep better in knowing that her daughter is safe with the caped crusader? Flip a switch here or there and you can instantly escape the bad guys, arrest them, or just plain have a little fun with them;
3. Spiderman is a swinger – When the term “swinger” is used, it is in a good way. There may be nothing cooler than seeing Spiderman swing from building to building in a crowded downtown. Just as Batman has the cool wheels to move around town rather flawlessly, it would be very easy on crowded city streets for Spiderman and his date to get from the restaurant to the movie theater with just a flick of his wrist. Given how expensive it is to park in some downtown venues on the weekends, this would also save Spiderman and his date on parking fees;
4. Batman has a cool sidekick – Even though he was more famous in the old television show than in the series of Batman movies, double dating with Batman and his junior partner in fighting crime, Robin, must be a thrill. Imagine the luck ladies that get to hang out with this pair of crime fighters on a Saturday night. Other guys would certainly keep their distances, while waiting for a table at the finest restaurants would almost be unheard of, especially in Gotham City;
5. Spiderman can hang with the best of them upside down – It isn’t every superhero that can kiss his girl while hanging upside down. In fact, how many superheroes do you know that can pull off this trick? While some women may find this a tad unnerving, others may find it quite attractive. Batman, meantime, can do amazing things, meantime, but hanging upside down while kissing a woman is not one of them. In fact, how many times have moviegoers seen Batman actually kissing a woman in the first place? The money seems to be on the fact that Peter Parker is just a tad cooler when it comes to his technique;
6. Batman has the cool digs – For those that date all the way back to the old TV show, stately Wayne Manor always seemed like it would be a cool place to hang out. Whether it was the lush grounds of the estate, having Alfred the butler to serve your every whim or sliding down those bat poles, what’s not to like about the place? While Spiderman can swing from venue to venue, Batman gets to go home at the end of a long day of crime fighting and kick back in the cool digs.
Whichever crime fighter wins out at the box office may not yet be known; one thing that is known is that both have a large fan base, something not even villains can deter.

Young and old alike, our lives are the sum total of our memories and the experience and knowledge that we are able to retain from them. Memories often operate primarily in one of two ways – either they are active and form part of your autopilot system and others are more subdued and only surface when you actively recall them. Even the brightest and most well adjusted person has a memory lapse every now and then and the reasons are as varied as the day is long. Think of your memory as just another muscle akin to any other in your body that you need to flex and exercise. If you don’t stimulate your mind and stretch your memory to the limit, you risk the chance of it becoming dormant and ineffective. This however is not a green light for you to start panicking if you forget where you put your car keys. For the most part, everyday memory lapses are the result of stress, an inability to concentrate due to stress or other solvable, manageable issues.
As far as health products to help your memory are concerned there are a number of preparations that claim to stimulate brain activity and thereby, stimulate memory. A particularly prominent forerunner in the supplement market for memory issues is ginkgo biloba. It is an herb that is supposed to be able to boost the power of your memory and to give you renewed concentration abilities. Many preparations for memory healthy contain this herb along with others and some vitamins and minerals. Using these supplements in only one part, however in making sure you can hold onto your thoughts for a long time to come. Again, we must reiterate that treating memory like a muscle is one of the best ways to conceptualize what needs to be done – you have to exercise your recall or bear losing it all together!
Use the following tip to help you give your memory a good hearty stretch!
Seek out patterns in your everyday life and then start creating your own: A super great way to remember big number clusters and large phrases is to begin by looking for patterns in their basic formation. What exactly are you looking for? With the numbers, are they in any way sequential? In the phrases, can you affix and acronym using words and meanings that are closer to things you are already retaining? Another great way to remember things is by putting them to music. Go with songs that are themselves easy to remember or that you already know by heart – the birthday song or some Christmas carols are very popular and make for easy tunes for you to add your numeric of syllabic patterns to. Be creative! Sometimes it help to get others involved, like a friend or spouse – have them sing the song to you and then you have the challenge of remembering what it is referencing. Have fun with this and pretty soon, you’ll remember everything you’ve ever set eyes or ears on!
