Last month we decided it was time to redo our son’s room. He is a big UGA Fan so of course we went with the UGA Look. He wanted his walls painted Black! I was not sure about how this would work but after enough begging I finally gave in. I actually think it turned out great! It’s not too dark and since he has all the UGA Wall stickers it actually made it look even better. Of Course with a new look he was in need of a bed. The bunk beds was just not cutting it anymore. He thinks that since he is older he needs a bigger and more adult, teen look. Which I do agree.
After a long weekend of looking and shopping we decided to go with the double bed with a brand new double mattress. He is in love with his new look and is actually keeping it clean. (MOST OF THE TIME)!

Now it’s time to move on to the bigger projects! The girls had a makeover last year so I am not going to focus on them this time around besides doing the yearly organizing and cleaning. However, I can’t say the same for my room or office! It’s time to do some serious redecorating! I have put this project off long enough. It seems like my bedroom and office has become a dumping ground for everyone else! As I sit here and type this I am looking around and I see more of the kids’ stuff then mine! I also see things that really should be trashed and others looking for a new home.
My Big issue now is finding a style both me and the hubby can agree on! That’s going to be really fun! So give me some idea ladies! I am usually good at this but when it comes to my bedroom and office I tend to go blank!
So What’s your big spring projects this year?

We Got Hood Love ft. Trey Songz
Sometimes i don’t get a chance to really tell you
But i promise you my love will never fail you
Don’t you get it?
Right now we writing history
A thousand years from now
They’ll talk about you and me
I know sometimes i go hard
For no reason at all
Put your soul through the business
And test the weight of your heart
But when your back’s on the wall
And there’s a shortage of friends
You know that I’m with you until the end
[chorus:]
Coz we got hood love
I be cussin i be screamin
Like it’s over then I’m longin
Then I’m feenin’ just to hold ya
cuz that’s how we do
You know that hood love is the good love
That’s me and you
So how you feel love?
Well I’m wit u
Never quit u
Now that’s real love
When you ain’t here
Then i miss you
Coz i still love
The way that we do
You know that hood love is the good love
That’s me and you
[Mary j. blige:]
Sometimes i think about leaving you
But when i think about what we’ve been through yeah
I get a feeling like it could be the worse
Cuz I’ve given you my best and i don’t mind it… that’s fine
Coz when you love somebody hard then you’ll love that way for life
You got all of my heart
And i’ll never leave your side
I gave my word to love ya
All the way to the end
So no matter what I’ll be right here
I’ll be right here cuz we got hood love
[chorus]
Cuz we got hood love
I be cussin I be screamin, like its ova
Then i’m lovin, and i’m feenin
Just to hold ya, and thats how we do
You know that hood love is the good
That’s me and you
How you feel love
Well im witcha never quit ya
Now that’s real love
When you ain’t here, then i miss ya
Cuz i still love, the way that we do
You know that hood love is the good
That’s me and you
[Trey Songz:]
Now I’ll play tough but not for too long
You are someone i depend on
No matter how i act at times
I could never walk away
I thought about it plenty times
But no one can take your place
[Mary j blige:]
Well if there aint no you
Then there aint no me
If there aint no us
Then I’d rather be
By my self
Cuz no one else
Could understand my needs
And baby bring me back i need cuz
We got hood love
[chorus]
Cuz we got hood love
I be cussin I be screamin, like its ova
Then i’m lovin, and i’m feenin
Just to hold ya, and thats how we do
You know that hood love is the good
That’s me and you
How you feel love
Well im witcha never quit ya
Now that’s real love
When you ain’t here, then i miss ya
Cuz i still love, the way that we do
You know that hood love is the good
That’s me and you

In the case of mom bloggers, all this adds up: writing posts, post, read reviews, reply, review statistics, subscribers, fans, etc, etc. It’s wonderful to have so many ways to connect and learn from other moms. But often we do not seize this opportunity because we waste a few minutes we have on unnecessary tasks, we could perform more effectively or distract us from the most important task. I hate getting out of the chair with the feeling that I wasted time, and I imagine some if not most of you feel the same.
So I would like to share some of the decisions that have helped me improve my time on line:

1. Centralize all email accounts. If you have multiple e-mails like most bloggers, your best bet is to centralize all in one place. You’ll save lots of time. I personally love using outlook! At First I thought it was more of a headache but after getting used to it, I am lost without it!
2. Cancel subscriptions. Until very recently I was receiving dozens of emails daily from newsletters and blog updates in which I did sign up for. But let’s face it …I Never had time to read them all and usually eliminated without even opening them. To end this frustration, one of the first steps I took was to remove many of the subscriptions. For a month, each time I received an email asking me if I was really interested in this blog. In most cases the answer was “no”, so I simply canceled the subscription. In the more interesting I decided to subscribe via RSS. In this way I keep up with the latest content without cluttering my inbox.
3. Use RSS. The news reader automatically checks all sites in which I am registered to and really enjoy. It helps me by displaying the new content only . In addition to saving room in my inbox, saving much time as possible to me to be aware of the latest articles and news without having to navigate through each website for updates.
4. Not moderate every blog comment.
Moderating almost every reader’s comments had seemed the best option when I started blogging. I didn’t want a lot of spam. However after having thousands of comments waiting to be approved that changed! I use Akismet which helps cut down the spam! This is a lifesaver! Also my settings are set to approve any comment from a reader that has previously approved comment and to hold a comment in the queue if it contains 2 or more links.
5. Disconnect from Facebook, Twitter and Message Boards.
Being permanently connected to Facebook, Twitter and lurking the message boards was a constant source of my distraction. I could not really concentrate on any work because I was always being sucked in with the latest news, gossip, drama, posts and comments. The best strategy I’ve found is to connect only when I intend to participate in social networks and all my other duties are COMPLETE!
6. Turn Off the Messengers (no the away or busy sign don’t cut it)! I admit I use to be on yahoo and skype for HOURS! I would get carried away in a conversation and never got anything done! If you’re on my list I am sure your noticing I am not logged in much anymore. I only log on when I know I have time to chat or I need to ask someone a quick question AKA Jammie! HAHA
So now it’s your turn! Share your strategies. I’d Love to hear how you optimize your time online?

I’m convinced all moms have difficult days. I refer to those days when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, irritable, depressed and just plain miserable. Everything overwhelms us and we are unable to take care of the house, the children (who seem to be more uncontrollable then ever), work, etc., etc. This is exactly how I felt last week. I can say it has been, not only a day, but “a difficult week.” Why? Spring Break was officially over and everybody had to get back into the swing of things after a nice break! In this case, the situations took me by surprise and I managed not as I would have liked. But there are some strategies that have helped me cope with other difficult days:
Chat with other moms.
Discussions with friends, even telephone, or chat help disconnect from my day and help remind me that all mothers have difficult days … and are temporary. I love talking to my friends and sharing stories of “My Day was..” ,OMG my kids did.., I wanted to hurt her type of stories. Sometimes that even makes me thankful that at least my day wasn’t like yours!
Do not be too demanding on yourself.
Reduce your daily tasks and essential basics. Is it extremely necessary that you really Iron that whole pile of clothes? I highly doubt it. Focus on an important task in the day. This will ensure the satisfaction of accomplishment fulfilled and avoid the frustration of the remaining tasks. And it simplifies all activities as possible. If you do not feel like cooking, buying food purchased (and do not worry, it will only be these days).
More TV and computer time for children.
OK, some will say that’s what’s wrong with kids today. I get that. But if you routinely try to restrict the time children spend watching television or playing computer games, it would be these days you are more permissive. Let them spend more time with these games and video. Do not feel guilty. Be better for everyone, they will be entertained and you’ll have more time to relax or rest. When the dust probably outweigh those minutes to other activities.
Rest more.
If you have not slept well, have less energy for the day. The best thing you can do is go to bed earlier. If you cannot sleep all night because you have younger children or a newborn, take advantage of the time sleeping during the day and relax you too. My Grandmother used to call me every day when my kids were small and if they were sleep she would start fussing! She was a firm believer of “sleeping when the baby sleeps”. However, that was when I felt that I needed to get everything else DONE! After Princess Jada came I took her advice and I see now why it helps in the long run! Lol
NOW Tell me how you handle those ‘bad days”….
