Working from home can be a dream come true for so many, but how can you tell if a work from home job is the real deal? There are many online sites that brag about how they can help you work from home and make you rich beyond your wildest dreams, but are any work from home jobs truly real? Here is how you can find out.
Learn about the types of jobs that really do hire work-at-home employees. For example, data entry, call center, sales, technical, writing, and telemarketing positions are all available to do from home. If a job advertises for a work-at-home position that doesn’t seem like it would work out well in a home setting, think about it thoroughly before applying.
Research the company
Don’t just research the job, but the company offering the job. Many sites are dedicated to outing frauds, so use them to determine if the job you’re viewing really is the real deal. A great place to check is workplacelikehome.com, a message board full of leads and employee reviews.
Check on the pay
If you have to pay to be an employee, beyond reasonable work equipment (computers, phones, headsets) then you should skip the job. It isn’t legit! Employers will not ask you to spend money on non-work related costs, so don’t fall into this trap. Also, ask about pay. When will you be paid, how, and how much? If you can’t get a straight answer, walk away.
Don’t trust ads alone
Sure, the site you’re visiting may be a legit site, but advertisements don’t have to be. Do not fall for an ad just because it is on a site you like. Research everything, and ask questions! Ask about pay, as well as hours, meetings, job duties, previous work experience, and where the company is heading. They aren’t just interviewing you- you are interviewing them, too! If they can’t or won’t answer your questions, they are not a company you want to deal with.

Great advice! I recently wrote an ebook about the three different work from home, but will be covering this topic in my next ebook.
Great post, a must read! Since remote working is all about online communication, it only makes sense that you will find such jobs online. Conduct your search and start with quality online marketplaces. Great examples of online marketplaces are oDesk, eLance, Freelancer, Guru, 99 Designs and Virtual Coworker.
