As a mom having my kids by C-section I have been left with that a ugly scar. I always thought that it would be there no matter what i did, so I guess you can say I didn’t stress it in till now! I have been using a new product called ScarAway that actually is helping it fade more and more! When I was contacted about this product I was happy to put it to the test! I will admit I really didn’t think it could work for me since my scars are not new! I am amazed so far with the product and i haven’t even been using it that long which Optimal results are achieved in about 12 weeks!

ScarAway is a new over-the-counter treatment that effectively shrinks, flattens and fades hypertrophic (raised), red, discolored and keloid scars.
These types of scars may result from surgical procedures, injuries or burns. Using patented Silon® technology, previously only available through hospitals, burn centers and plastic surgeons, this professional grade silicone sheeting brings the ultimate in non-invasive, drug-free scar reduction and prevention home.
That means that anyone can safely use doctor-recommended ScarAway, and that’s good news, since hundreds of millions of scars are generated every year. Kids are particularly susceptible to every day tumbles and scrapes, and 30% of new moms bring home a C-section scar along with their new bundle of joy. ScarAway can be used on any skin tone and on scars that are old or new, as soon as skin is healed. softening of the scar may be felt in just days, with visible results in just weeks. Optimal results are achieved in about 12 weeks.
Numerous clinical studies support the safety and efficacy of silicone sheeting for the reduction and prevention of scars. One study concluded that “Overall, the success rate (somewhat improved to greatly improved) for the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars is high (95%)” *ScarAway (an FDA class 1 medical device) represents a significant improvement over scar minimizing creams and ointments both in terms of results and ease-of-use. ScarAway silicone sheets deliver direct pressure to the scar that helps to diminish its appearance. They are non-greasy and won’t stain or stick to clothes. And ScarAway’s patented Silon® technology produces sheeting that is ultra-thin, breathable, flexible and durable. ScarAway is also unique for its silky-soft fabric backing for optimal comfort and protection with a bonus — it is opaque, so it conceals a scar as it heals.
“Surgeons, dermatologists, ObGyns, and physical therapists are recommending ScarAway to their patients, and urging them to try this safe, effective and affordable method of scar treatment and prevention,” says Jessica Rowen, President of Mitchell-Vance Laboratories, LLC, a certified woman-owned business.
The patch-like format makes each 1.5 x 3” silicone sheet easy to apply. Simply wash and dry the scar area, peel away the sheet’s backing, and apply the adhesive side to the scar. Each sheet is designed to last approximately a week. While showering or bathing, the sheet is removed and stored temporarily in a case that is included in each kit. Sheets can be trimmed to size for smaller scars or paired to cover a larger area. A box of 12 standard size sheets retails for $29.99 making the product economical at only .35 per day. ScarAway LONG Silicone Scar Sheets are specially sized for scars resulting from surgeries such as tummy tucks and Caesarean sections and priced at $59.99 for a box of 12 7” strips.
ScarAway™ products are available at www.drugstore.com, www.amazon.com or at www.myscaraway.com.
I would recommend anyone that has a scar that they would like to fade to try these! ScarAway even comes with a guarantee! Simply use ScarAway as directed for 8-12 weeks. If you are not completely satisfied you may return the unused portion and receive a complete refund less shipping and handling. All they ask is you call customer service during normal business hours for return authorization. I will keep some of these around from now on and use them on any scars that my kids might get in the future!

Good to know about…I to suffer with annoying c-section scars and would like to at least fade them somewhat.
Good Info thanks!
Silicone is great for scars. My C-section scar looks a lot better because of it – I was first using Cica Care sheeting which looks similar to this product but then switched to a silicone gel (Strataderm) which was a lot easier to use. I didn’t like the sheeting very much, it seemed pretty unhygienic to use (I was afraid I would get an infection). Strataderm is in a form of a gel so you simply spread a small amount over the scar. In three months, the scar was a lot less visible; it didn’t really go away but it looked a lot better. The itching stopped and the scar faded noticably – it was a lot less red. I’m really glad products like Scaraway and Strataderm exist – C-section scar looks really unattractive so the less visible it is the happier I am!!
I developed a reddish purple thick raised up, textured scar after my c-section a few years ago. I previously tried every over the counter cream and sheet and even an expensive cream from my dermatologist. Nothing worked. My scar was over three years old and I had nearly given up hope when my doctor recommended trying Scaraway sheets. After just a few days my scar was noticeably softer and after a few weeks, the itching was gone and it was flatter and less red. After 10 weeks I cannot believe the results. My scar has virtually vanished. All that is left is a faint whitish line, but it blends with my skin and is no longer raised up and thick. These sheets were very easy to use compared to other scar treatments I’ve tried. I just put it on my scar after showering and sometimes just left the sheet on for days, opting to cover it when I shower instead of taking it off like directions say to do. I am extremely pleased with this product, and thrilled to be able to show off my bod again after years of feeling embarrased by my scar. 🙂 so, I’m glad I found this! Soooo, ladies…the update is that I had a repeat c-section last year and used this after my incision healed…what a huge difference in my healing time this time!!! My OB was amazed at how my scar looked after such a short time…barely even noticable after a few months! And the soft fabric outer layer was very soothing and protected my scar area from the rubbing of my clothes. Love, love, love Scaraway. All moms who delivered their babies by c-section should know about this product.
