The Other day I received some mail about American Home Shield. I usually throw this type of mail away without opening it but I decided to give it look. I was shocked to find that they offer Georgia home warranty. I am sure that if you’re like me you’re asking what actually a Home warranty is!? Apparently A home warranty is a service contract that covers repairs or replacement of many of the most frequently occurring breakdowns of home system components and appliances. I was very interested in learning more to say the least. I am sure we can all agree that those unexpected repair or replacement costs can easily strain the family budget! I found that out the hard way! A few years back it seemed like everything in my house needed repaired or replaced. First it was my water heater, then my stupid dryer and of course the hottest part of the summer in Hot Atlanta my lovely Air Conditioner just completely died!
I called around everywhere looking and doing price checks because I was in shock how much they charge just to come out and LOOK not to mention the actual repair fee! Thank goodness for savings because I don’t know how we would have managed if we didn’t. I see that this type of warranty could actually be a good idea and pay for itself in the long run especially now how the economy is. I can’t afford those unexpected moments! I am still trying to convince the Mr. that we actually need it. But that’s a hard one! I am sure you know that men feel they can “repair” most anything and usually we still have to call the pro’s which equals =time and money wasted with a lot of grumbling BECAUSE WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED THEM FIRST ANYWAYS!*sigh*
So do you or anyone you know have this type of warranty? I would love to hear from you! If not would you consider purchasing it? Why or why not?
You know I remember when your A/C died! Omg it was the hottest part of the summer, it is crazy how much of a price difference it is between companies, and how much you save just having the coverage. Even if you are just saving yourself from a nervous break down when the high end product decides it doesn’t want to go anymore.

We have AHS & have had it since we moved in our house over 8yrs now. Its the best security to keep from paying out of pocket. Right before we got the insurance we had to get our washing machine repaired & it cost over $300. There’s been times since we’ve had it that 2 items would go out at the same time. We would only have to pay one co pay if it was the same tech. Its like car insurance for us.
Hey Nicole! How are you! Thanks for the comment! I agree I think it should be looked @ just like car Insurance! The price is not bad @ all either. And It seems like all these new products seem to wear down or need replacing a lot more these days! Cheaply made but HIGHLY priced lol
I would definitely consider purchasing something like this as it would save me money on costly repairs. As a single parent, I have trouble keeping up on bills nevermind being able to afford unexpected repairs.
