More and more people are discovering that they are allergic or have adverse reactions to food that has Gluten in it. Doctors used to dismiss complaints from patients who felt they needed a gluten-free diet because they had celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, but now doctors are acknowledging that these conditions are legitimate. Finding Gluten free products can be a task, but more and more supermarkets are beginning to carry various products making it much easier.
I recently came across a company who makes Gluten free products, and decided to give a couple things a try.
The first product I tried was San-J Teriyaki Sesame Brown Rice Crackers. Now, I have to admit that these crackers didn’t exactly look all that appetizing to me, I mean, they didn’t look gross or anything, it’s just that I tend to have an aversion to anything that might actually be good for me. I shared them with my kids and they thought they looked and tasted fantastic. I also shared some with a small group I am involved in and they too thought they looked and tasted wonderful. Now we ate them with cheddar cheese as a topping, but I’m sure they would be great with any number of dips or other spreads. Besides tasting good, they are healthier than other crackers, as they are baked not fried, and let’s not forget they are Gluten free.
I absolutely love Asian food of any kind. But I especially love chicken and rice with soy sauce, so the second product I tried was San-J Tamari Gluten Free Soy Sauce. There isn’t a whole lot I can say about Soy Sauce, but I will tell you that it was pleasant tasting, not real strong, and it really adds a boost of flavor to my chicken and rice recipe. I have tried other soy sauces which over powered the taste of the rest of the food. This was not the case with San-J.
The company San-J has a lot of other products, and I plan on trying them all. The products are reasonably priced and can be purchased at a variety of stores depending on your state. Check your states availability here. Alternatively they can be purchased online at the San-J website.
