I am the First Color of Choice at Blogs her color!!

Heyyy everyone!! Thanks For taking the time to stop by my little spot on the web if you found me on Blogs Her Color!

I am so excited that I actually won the spotlight but even more excited to be able to find and network with other Great women of color!Â I am Jennifer AKA Jen. I am a Biracial almost 30 *cries 11-27* mom living it up in Hott ATL!Â Â I amÂ really excited about Blogs her color and feel that we should all come together and help market it more to get new members on board.Â When I started blogging I was always finding myself searching for Moms and women like me.Â I knew that women of color blogged but where were they!!?Â I did find a few and during the year I have found more but I still know that I am missing some!

I read a post a few months back on another blog asking where is all these women of color bloggers in reference to BLOGALICIOUS and the post struck me because I myself was asking the same thing.Â Â We know we are out there but where!Â I read a comment in response to that from another blogger of color and she said it best basically saying she don’t feel that she has to flaunt on her blog that she is a women of color.Â I thought about that comment all day and I gotta agree with her.Â Â I don’t feel that we have to put a seal up on our blog stating we are women of color but on the flip side I would like to be able to find you.Â Â I also have noticed that women of colors are saying that the black community is not supporting their blogs like the other communities, but again I question is it because we don’t know where you’re at to support you?, are you updating your blog regular?, are you interacting with others who actually post a comment on your blog?

I know that I have found a few blogs that I go to and it’s never updatedÂ which leads me to believe you’re not blogging anymore, or the blogs that do update when I post a comment giving you support I never see the same support or comment love in return then.Â I know we don’t have time to go comment everyone back who comments our blogs. Trust me I have kids and my life is Hectic but don’t expect someone to always show you support when you’re not giving back yourself.

I feel that Blogs her color will be a great tool for us all to find women and mothers that can relate to us in one place without having to search for hours.Â I hope we use this as a support tool to not only gain new readers but to support each other.Â Â They are days that I want to post something that I feel only women of color can actually relate to but find myself holding it in draft because I know My loyal readers and support system whom I LOVE BTW would not know how to comment on it without it sounding wrong or raciest kwim? So I don’t want to put them in a uncomfortable situation which now after talking to others I refuse not to post something on my blog because of that.Â This is my blog I pay the bills so I can post whatever I want and I have so much respect for my readers that if they did post a comment that we might not agree on or I feel they don’t understand where I am coming from THAT’S OK But I can bet you someone is going to read it and relate to it in some way or another!

But Enough Of that stop reading my blog … But WaitÂ leave me a comment saying hi or byeÂ letting me know you were here..LOL becauseÂ You nowÂ have homeworkÂ head over to blogs her color and find 1 blog right now and go show them some love and support and if you have more time go visit more since the list is not that big yet this is the best time to get started! Make this something that youÂ do often it only takes 2 minutes out of your time and could mean more then you know to that person. If you haven’t got listed then list yourself and place the badge on your blog and wear it proud!

My Childs Teacher Probably Thinks our family is struggling with money now and I am a complete nutcase!!

OMG I am so embarrassed but can’t stop laughing at the same time! The 2 oldest kids are in chorus and stay after school 1 day a week for practice. The Kids have been hinting around lately that they didn’t want to do it anymore since they are getting older and busy with other after school activates and sports so being the mother I am I told them the decision was theirs.

So Last week I get a letter reminding me I need to pay for the new chorus Shirts. I clearly remember asking the kids if they are going to stay or leave chorus. Dre Said he is done and wants to focus more on basketball and Jasmine was not sure. I told her to make up her mind because I am not going to pay for that expensive stupid t-shirt if she is not going and nothing else was ever said on the topic till tonight!

They didn’t go to practice this week and decided they were done so I was like ok it’s whatever you want. Last Night As I was looking through my blackberry I see a missed call and voice mail. I didn’t recall the number so I listened to the voice mail and it was THE CHROUS TEACHER!! You could hear in her voice that she was looking for the right words to say so she didn’t offend me but apparently she stopped Jasmine in the hallway and ask her why she was not at practice instead of Jasmine telling her she didn’t want to be a part of the group any more she threw me under the bus!! She told her teacher that I said those t-shirts are just too expensive and not worth it and I have better things to spend my money ON!! I wanted to die, But WAIT IT GETS BETTER!! She says that she knows that with the economy so bad that she understands that 2 shirts might be a little too much for me now and she would hate the kids to drop out because of a shirt and offered to help and asked me to call her back.

As I set there lost for words and laughing at the same time I ask Jasmine to come downstairs. I ask Jasmine why she told her teacher that and of course she was like no I didn’t, then when I told her that the teacher just called she was in shock! She said “she called you” I was like yup then she just started grinning cause she already knew she had been caught!. I talked to jasmine and explained to her again what I said and meant.

After she went upstairs I called the teacher back on her cell. I couldn’t wait till the next morning I hated the thought that of her even thinking that. We are the type of parents that will go without to make sure the kids get what they want and need plus WE ARE NOT WHAT YOU WOULD SAY STRUGGLING! I explained to the teacher what was said and let her know that if jasmine wants to stay I will send the money the next practice. I don’t know if she fully believed me or was just busy and needed to get off the phone because it was a really short conversation.

I don’t understand why she just didn’t ask my son everyone at school knows jasmine always says the first thing that comes out of her mouth without thinking. Now I am trying to remember anything else I have said that could be twisted that she has went back and repeated! No wonder everyone at school is super nice to me they probably have heard an ear full and think I am a complete NUTCASE!!

OH AND GET THIS JASMINE SAYS SHE DOESN’T WANT TO BE IN CHROUS!! WISH YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD YOUR TEACHER THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE KIDDO!

To Be honest I can’t find any! I have used this almost daily for 2 weeks now and no complaint WELL Except the cord didn’t stretch all the way out one time and it came unpluged (which was my Fault) but other then that I LOVE IT!

I am Very Impressed and Happy With this Vacuum Cleaner! It’s So Much lighter then my old one and picks up Great! I just vacuumed before I tested It the first time But was shocked to see what the hoover WindTunnel Picked up even after I just vacuumed!! The Kids even wanted to vacumn but They are banned from touching this! I gave them The OLD ONE and Of course I will use my New WindTunnel when I vacuum their room but I refuse to let them put their hands on this one! I never thought I would say that about a cleaning product!
