I am sure most of you remember me telling you that I was a Kaplan Test drive mom. Well, I am sad to say my tour has come to an end!  However we will continue to use this program for Jasmine.   With other personal distractions we were not able to use the program as much as I liked.  The time that we did spend she actually enjoyed it.  Dre really didn’t have the extra time and with his already busy homework schedule we decided that we would let him skip out on this.  He actually wouldn’t mind doing it but with the time frames it wasn’t working. I wish that there was a way to have shorter lessons.

I know we will be using this for all 3 of kids during the summer months for sure!   I always make my kids do school work and read during the summer so everything they have learned is not lost!  This also helps them stay ahead.  You can learn more about how to get the one month free trial of Kaplan Tutoring here.  Just test drive it! I was very happy to learn that the new The Johnson’s Shea & Cocoa Butter line! I remember when I was younger my Grandmother wouldn’t use noting but Shea & Cocoa Butter along with regular baby oil. I am sure I am not alone when I say cocoa butter was a must!  It was a cure for everything including stretch marks!   I hate to see anyone with ashy skin and I know y’all know exactly what I am talking about LOL.  My kids know they better not go out my house ashy!  My son tried that one time before a basketball game and yup you guessed it I called him over and lotioned him up!  He was embarrassed but he knew the deal!

The Johnson’s Shea & Cocoa Butter line is a must for the whole family and a brand we all trust!  My Favorite has to be the baby creamy oil. I love the non-greasy creamy texture and the Coverage just like you get from regular baby oil.  I also love the smell it’s not as strong as other brands but you can still have that cocoa & Shea butter smell that we love.

The Holidays are fast approaching!  I am sure someone on your list has an mp3 player on their wish year this year!  Let me guess it’s and IPOD!  Everyone seems to want iPods but there is many other great mp3 players on the market and don’t cost nearly as much!   I agree Ipods are very nice especially the ipod touch but as a mother I really don’t think my kids need that.   My oldest daughter loves music and did have one on her list, which of course being the mom I am was going to give in and buy her one this year.  She has an old Sansa® mp3 player and has taken really good care of it.  (CAN’T SAY THAT ABOUT THE OTHER KIDS AND THEIRS HAHA). She takes it everywhere!  I often have to take it away from here when we are in the mall or out shopping cause it drives me crazy!

I am Happy to announce that I am one of the lucky Kaplan test drive moms!

Mom central always seems to have the best blog tours and test drive teams around. I love working with them.  A few weeks ago I got invited to sign up for the Kaplan test drive moms. When I received the invite I knew this was something that we needed!  My Son has been in gifted classes since 1^st grade however since starting middle school this year; I have noticed that he is struggling with math. My Daughter Jasmine has always had trouble with math and NO matter what we have tried it never works!  We have tried tutors, extra help at school and home plus websites that provide math games.  Both the kids do well in reading but I would love to see Jasmine improve.

Kaplan Tutoring uses a technology called Smart Track, which smoothly customizes a program based on your child’s math and reading level determined by an online assessment. As your child progresses through the program, the material continues to adapt, becoming harder on topics your child masters, and easing back to accommodate struggles. Fun, interactive characters and the Reward Zone, where you can redeem points for prizes, help kids stay motivated to continuously come back and push themselves to learn more. Also, as a parent you can be involved in your child’s learning process by using a feature that allows you to track their progress.

When I told the kids about the program and that they got accepted, they weren’t as happy as I was!  We took the afternoon to look over the site to get a feel for it.  I was shocked when the kids were asking if they could go ahead and take the pre- assessment.  They took the assessment and actually enjoyed it.  They also love the point system where they can redeem for very nice prizes.  We will be doing the program for the next 8 weeks and I already feel that this might be what I have been looking for. To fully benefit from the program each student should dedicate at least two hours per week to using Kaplan Tutoring. Which Is very easy  to do especially on the weekends.
